human-centered
I turn ambiguous, human problems — in healthcare, accessibility, and AI-driven products — into interfaces that are simple to use and honest about their limits, built on research rather than assumption.

a little about myself
Anamika Yadav
My path into design didn't start with a Figma file — it started with noticing bad experiences before I had a name for them: a form nobody filled out, a clinic queue that never moved, an app that looked fine but frustrated everyone using it.
Studying UX gave that instinct a method: talk to people first, then design. I'm early in this career — a Master's in Human-Centered AI & Experience Design in progress, one internship at AkkoRent, and a small handful of independent projects like QCare and ClarityLens. What I'm building is the habit of a rigorous process: research before assumptions, and design decisions I can actually explain, not just defend.

a repeatable process, not a straight line
In practice this loops — testing sends me back to define, iteration sends me back to research. This is the order it settles into by the time something ships.
Understand first
Interviews and contextual inquiry to find what's actually happening.
Sharpen the problem
Synthesis to separate symptoms from root causes.
Generate widely
Divergent sketching, kept rough so weak ideas die early.
Structure first
Low-fidelity flows to pressure-test logic before style.
Make it real
Interactive builds made specifically to be tested.
Watch, don't defend
Usability sessions with real or representative users.
Fix what's found
Revisions driven by evidence, not opinion.
Ship & listen
Handoff with documentation and a measurement plan.

the reading and writing behind the designing
A Review Study of Cognitive Load in Website and Mobile Application User Interface Design
Published in the Journal Publication of International Research for Engineering and Management (JOIREM), Vol. 04, Issue 4, April 2026 — ISSN (O) 3107-6696. Co-authored with Vasudha, Assistant Professor, World University of Design. The paper reviews how intrinsic, extraneous, and germane cognitive load shape usability, and the design strategies — visual hierarchy, content chunking, progressive disclosure — that help reduce unnecessary mental effort in UI design.
Human-Centered AI
Designing AI systems people can understand, question, and reasonably trust.
Accessibility
Treating WCAG as a design constraint, not a compliance afterthought.
Cognitive Load Theory
Intrinsic, extraneous, and germane load, and how UI design manages each.
UX Learning
Ongoing notes from coursework, certifications, and independent study.
